June 2021, Appleton, Lisboa. Commissioned by David Maranha.
Starting as an invitation to perform at the white cube gallery of Appleton, the context of the pandemic steered the work towards an installation so it could be experienced for a longer time by smaller groups. The performance PA was available to use in the installation, so its one-and-a-half-metre-high speakers were mounted in the corners of the room and paired with a second set of speakers placed at the centre. As the bass-heavy PA filled the room with low-frequency pulses, the two smaller speakers dialogued with them by projecting higher-frequency samples of muted singing bowls.
