Cymbals, stands, transducers, speakers, contact microphones, computer, software, lamps.

July 2014, Museu Grão Vasco, Viseu. Commissioned by Sandra Oliveira and Raquel Castro for the Jardins Efémeros / Ears to the City program included in the Invisible Places / Sounding Cities symposium.

We returned to the exploration of feedback, stimulation, and resonance and developed a map of networks that intersected urban soundscapes, residues, and reverberative effects. This was an installation in two parts. The first a set of four cymbals stimulated by transducers playing sounds that could only be heard in proximity. In an adjacent room, the second part consisted of two speakers amplifying the vibrations of the cymbals as captured by contact microphones. Micro-variations in sound were articulated in circuits of confrontation, dialogues, and tensions, from which the composition emerged.
